The word “Custody” isn’t used in Tennessee. Here, parents are deemed as being “responsible” for a child’s care. What courts decide is the authority of “care, custody and control” of children by one or both parents. It always comes down to what is in the best interest of the child.
In every case we handle, we consider what’s best for your family. This includes your children. We want you to be happy with the outcome of your case, as well as your child.
If you have children, your ex-spouse/other parent is going to be part of your and your child’s lives forever. For the welfare of everyone involved, it’s best to keep some kind of civility between the parties.
This doesn’t mean be a pushover. Just civility to work out disagreements when it comes to children. You need to consider your children in every decision regarding divorce or a parenting plan. We will be here to help you. We’ll give you the realities, be a sounding board, offer advice and fight for the best plan for everyone.
